Former West Ham United player and Mali football legend Frederic Kanoute has labeled Mohammed Kudus as one of the most exciting African footballers.
He said this in an interview on West Ham’s channel, Iron Podcast, when addressing the Ghanaian midfielder’s chances of winning the Player of the Year award.
Kudus is competing in his first year with The Hammers after joining the London side from Ajax Amsterdam but has made a fine start in the English Premier League.
“He’s really really talented. He has everything. He has strength running forwards, he can play different positions. Still quite young, but I think he’s one of the most exciting African footballers around these days so yes he definitely has a chance for me.”

Kudus has six goals and two assists in 19 English Premier League appearances and won two Man of the Match Awards in his debut Africa Cup of Nations campaign.

Despite seeing the Black Stars crashing out of the competition in the first round, Kudus scored twice in two goals.
Kanoute starred at the AFCON for Mali in 2004 where The Eagles finished fourth; the French born player won the 2007 African Footballer of the Year Award.
