The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Honourable James Klutse Avedzi, has directed the National Sports Authority (NSA) Director General (DG) Professor Twumasi to ensure the immediate transfer of Alexander Atieku from the role of Central Regional NSA head to the Eastern Region.

He said this during Professor Twumasi’s appearance at the PAC hearing over dealings at the NSA in the year under review.

After a grilling session that got heated at a certain point, the PAC Chair chastised the NSA Director General for his role in preventing the order of Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif to have Alexander Atieku transferred from the Central Region to the Eastern Region. “Honourable members, the Director General took instruction from the Minister to transfer Mr. Atieku. He-the DG-made the heading, Transfer to Head Office and intentionally put in the body of the letter, Transfer to Eastern Region. The DG went behind that letter and spoke to Mr. Atieku not to honour the transfer so that’s a complete disrespect to the Minister.”

Public Accounts Committee Chairman James James Klutse Avedzi

“This committee I think our position is that Mr. Atieku should move immediately to Eastern Region and Director General, this committee is directing you to ensure that Mr. Atieku is moved to where you are transferring him. Do that immediately and report back to us.”
