Ghana forward Inaki Williams’ fine form in the 2023-2024 season continues as the Athletic Bilbao player bagged his ninth league goal of the season.

Williams scored in Bilbao’s 3-2 win over Girona in a competitive game featuring two sides in the top five in the Spanish La Liga.

The Black Stars player scored in the 60th minute to restore Bilbao’s two goal lead after Viktor Tsyhankov pulled a goal back for Girona. Bilbao led through a brace from Alejandro Berenguer.

29 year old striker Williams, held off his marker and swept the ball home off a long pass for ninth goal in 22 league appearances this season. He has three assists to his credit.

The goal gets Williams closer to the century mark of goals in Bilbao’s senior team after graduating from the academy.

He has 96 goals in Bilbao colours and scored his debut goal for Ghana’s Black Stars ahead of competing at the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time.
