Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club assistant club, David Ocloo, believes luck has deserted the Porcupine Warriors.
He said this in the wake of Kotoko’s fifth loss in six Ghana Premier League games since the commencement of the second half of the 2023-2024 season.
Kotoko lost 1-0 to Nations FC at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi with the loss to the Kumasi rival compounded the pressure on the Dr. Prosper Ogum led team.
Nations maintained the pressure on league leaders FC Samartex with the win courtesy an Asamoah Boateng Afriyie’s goal in added on time in the first half.
Aside Nations FC, Kotoko have lost to Kpando Heart of Lions, Karela United and Accra Lions to rank ninth in the league standings. Speaking in his post game interview, Ocloo said,
“It’s a very difficult situation but I think today, our boys came to the party they were well organized, disciplined…it was nice but it’s unfortunate we couldn’t that needed goal” and responded to a question of luck desertion from the team saying
“It’s true. It’s true but I think with more hard work we will get that luck back.”
Kotoko’s sole win in the second half of the season came via a 1-0 win over Bibiani Gold Stars on March 1.
