Ghana midfielder Mohammed Kudus missed the Black Stars friendly outings against Nigeria and Uganda but returned to action in a big way as he starred in West Ham’s 4-3 loss to Newcastle United.
The Black Stars midfielder scored and provided an assist in the entertaining English Premier League game against Newcastle United at St. James Park.
Spotting a new hair-do, Kudus swept the ball into the net with his right foot deep inside the penalty box late in the first half to give West Ham a 2-1 lead off a pass from Jarrod Bowen.
Kudus, Bowen and Brazilian international Lucas Paqueta have combined to devastating fashion for The Hammers this season and after seeing Paqueta assist Michail Antonio for West Ham’s first goal, Bowen and Kudus combined to put West Ham up 3-1.
Off a Newcastle United corner early in the second half, Kudus rode a tackle, stormed down West Ham’s left side before delivering a crisp pass to Bowen who pushed the ball close to goal before slotting the ball into the net with his right foot.
Kudus scored his seventh goal and provided his fifth assist in 25 league games in the process; the 23 year old is competing in his debut Premier League campaign after joining from Ajax Amsterdam in the 2023 main transfer window.
