Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, is confident his team will match FC Samartex’s heralded midfield this weekend.

Kotoko take on Samartex in the most high profile matchup in the latest round of the Ghana Premier League this weekend.

The game kicks off at 15:00 GMT at the Baba Yara Stadium with Samartex gunning for a win to maintain its lead atop the league standings as Kotoko struggle for form.

The Porcupine Warriors rank 11th ahead of the game and have lost six of its last seven league games including a 2-0 loss to Dreams FC in the immediate past round of games.

Asked how his team plans to deal with the threat of Samartex’s vaunted midfield of Emmanuel Keyekeh, Emmanuel Papa Ocran and Seidu Dauda Yussif to Opemsuo Radio, coach Ogum stated,

“Though Richmond Lamptey and Mohammed Sherriff won’t play in the game due to injury but we have equally good players in midfield; the likes of Rocky Dwamena, Andrew Ntim Manu, Shadrack Addo and co they are there.”

“So they have a solid, very vibrant, confident midfield but I think we also have the men in the park to equally match them.”
