We should trust and support Otto Addo- Kotoko’s Frederick Asare on Black Stars Head Coach

Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club goalkeeper Frederick Asare says he learnt a lot from working with Black Stars head coach Otto Addo.

He said this in an interview with Kotoko media after getting called up to the Black Stars for the second time by Otto Addo.

Asare was the only Ghana Premier League player called up to Addo’s 26 man squad for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali in Bamako on June 6 and Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on June 10.

The former Accra Lions player says he is eager to repay the Black Stars head coach’s faith in him and praised Otto Addo for building confidence in goalkeepers with his philosophy stating, (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“Working with him is a great thing for me. I’ve learnt a lot, he is a ball playing coach who always likes to play from the back with the goalkeeper so having him as your coach, gives you that confidence even upon several mistakes he still tries encourages you to always do the best.”

“For me I think that he is one of the best coaches Ghana can ever have so I believe that we should trust in him and support him.”

Asare and the rest of the Black Stars will train behind closed doors at the University of Ghana Stadium before leaving for Mali.
