Former Accra Hearts of Oak head coach, Samuel Boadu, isn’t reading too much meaning into suffering a heavy loss to his former side with his new team.
He said this after his Berekum Chelsea team lost 3-0 at the Berekum Golden City Park to Hearts of Oak in a Match Day 29 matchup in the 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League season. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
During his time as Hearts head coach, Boadu led The Phobians to win the Ghana League title for the first time in 11 years and back to back FA Cup titles.
However, a mix of poor results and a fallout with some members of the Hearts of Oak Board led to his dismissal from the club.
After seeing his team concede goals from Hamza Issah, Linda Mtange and Kassim Cisse, Boadu was nonchalant about the result and reaffirmed his love for his new club.
“That’s the game. That’s the game. Now I’m now working for Chelsea so my heart is in Chelsea. They (Hearts) won that’s it.”

Berekum Chelsea rank eighth in the league standings ahead of its clash with 10th ranked Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Friday, May 17.
