Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club will have a new keeper man the post for the Phobian club in its upcoming game against Accra Lions in the Ghana Premier League.
21 year old goalkeeper Kwesi Nketiah will start the game for The Phobians who are in desperate need of a win after losing three of its last four games.
The former Susubiribi FC player replaces veteran goalkeeper Richard Attah in Hearts’ starting unit against Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday, May 1 at 15:00 GMT.
Attah has come under heavy scrutiny particularly this season over weight concerns and his overall performance with many pointing to his slow reflexes leading to Hearts conceding one of two goals against Legon Cities.
Nketiah becomes the latest name to start as Hearts’ goalkeeper in the 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League season with Hearts head coach Aboubakar Ouattara having rolled out Attah and Sharif Shuaib in between the post in previous games with Richmond Ayi also on the roster.

Lions rank eighth in the standings while Hearts rank 12th in the lead up to the clash.
