Nations Football Club head coach, Kassim Mingle Ocansey, has blamed a poor start for his team’s 2-0 loss to Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club.

He said this after Nations lost to The Phobian club at the Accra Sports Stadium with the loss extending Nations poor run in the latter part of the 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League season.

Nations have just a win in their last seven league games; the team has two draws and four losses during this period and rank fourth in the league at the time of writing.

Kassim Cisse and Hamza Issah scored in the 10th and 15th minute to give Hearts the win and in his postgame presser, the Nations FC head coach blamed the poor start for the loss.

“Its’ unfortunate we lost. We conceded two quick goals, that’s what happened. After we conceded the goals, our boys started playing (well). They lost focus, when we started they conceded two quick goals. After the goals, they woke up and started playing unfortunately, we couldn’t equalize.”
