Black Stars defender, Tariq Lamptey, is fully aware of the task that lies ahead for Ghana’s National men’s Football Team in its quest to qualify to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In an interview ahead of Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Mali in Bamako on Thursday, June 6 at 19:00 GMT, the Brighton and Hove Albion player talked about the quality the Malians possess.
“We know we are facing a good side that’s why we are trying to concentrate on ourselves and working hard to make sure that we give ourselves the best chance possible.”
Ghana goes into the game ranked fifth in Group I after beating Madagascar but losing 1-0 to Comoros to open its campaign to qualify to the FIFA World Cup for the fifth time.
Lamptey is in line to feature in his first competitive game for the Black Stars since playing at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. He is coming off a 2023-2024 EPL season that had Roberto De Zerbi leave his role as Brighton manager.
