FC Samartex 1996’s obscure location played a role in the team’s 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League title win according to Skyy FC Bankroller Wilson Arthur.

The football administrator who doubles as the MTN FA Cup Committee Chairman stated this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports in the wake of the team’s shock league win.

Competing in its second season in the Ghanaian top flight, Samartex holds a nine point lead over second ranked Aduana Stars with two games left to play in the season.

After complimenting Samartex’s squad quality, Wilson Arthur added that Samartex’s location in Samreboi, in the tropical rainforest area of Ghana’s Western-North Region, played a role in the team’s brilliant campaign. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“Where they are, they are not in the city where there are a lot of distractions. This team is in the middle of nowhere so players there have full concentration on football matters and that is why they are doing well. I’m not surprised at all (with their title win) in fact they are going to dominate Ghana football for a very long time.”
