Accra Great Olympics assistant head coach Orlando Wellington says his team playing to its strength played a key role in a 1-0 win over Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

He said this after Great Olympics picked up the important win as the Accra based side battles against getting relegated from the Ghana Premier League.

The Dade Boys survived a scare in the 16th minute when Kotoko striker Steven Mukwala had his penalty saved by goalkeeper Benjamin Asare. Raymond Grippman scored the winner in the 43rd minute however.

Speaking in his post game presser, coach Wellington believes leaning into his team’s strength helped his team win the game.

“We don’t rely so much on building out from the back because we have players who can run, we have players with a lot of strength, so we played to our strength.”

Despite the win, Great Olympics rank 16th in the 18 team league standings with 39 points but trail 15th placed Karela United by a point ahead of a midweek clash against Dreams FC.
