In a move reflecting its quality in depth, Nungua Coldstore Basketball Club bagged wins while competing in multiple competitions on Saturday, July 27.
In the Accra Basketball League, Coldstore got its campaign in the second round off to a winning start by securing a 77-48 win over Ghana Air Force at the Prisons Court.
In the Community Hoops Tournament headlined by Betway, Coldstore fielded another team that powered past the likes of Tudu Magic and Bombers to top the field.
The win represents Coldstore’s third title win in the competition after recording similar feats in previous editions organized in Tema and Takoradi.
This year’s edition took place at the Dansoman SSNIT Flat Courts with eight teams competing. Seven of the eight teams feature in the Accra Basketball League.
Coldstore’s largely veteran group made up of the likes of Kwame Boamah Djan competed and beat Air Force in the ABL while a group made up of mainly youngsters competed and won the team’s third Community Hoops Tournament that had a cash prize of 10,000 Ghana Cedis.
