Nungua Coldstore Basketball Club have emerged as winners of the 2024 Betway Community Hoops Tournament.

The team triumphed in the 2024 edition of the tournament thanks to a win over Bombers Club in the final game at the Dansoman SSNIT Flats Basketball Court after getting past Tudu Magic in the semifinals en route to the final.

The win in the final over Bombers, got Coldstore to win the competition for the third time after the club won previous editions held in Takoradi and Tema in 2018 and 2019 respectively.

This year’s event also marked the return of the competition after a brief hiatus due to the COVID 19 Pandemic.

A largely young Coldstore squad show athleticism, great defense and apt shooting to get past a largely veteran Bombers group that had the likes of Kwame Attafuah and Kofi Attafuah feature.

By winning the 2024 Betway Community Hoops, Coldstore earned a prize money of 10,000 Ghana Cedis; the Community Hoops Tournament forms part of Ghana’s leading betting company, Betway’s, corporate social responsibility.

Eight teams competed in the 2024 Betway Community Hoops including Charm Basketball Academy, Kaneshie Swanlakers and DC Keys.
