Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, has stated that The Phobia Club has a recruitment policy and added that board member Vincent Sowah-Odotei and former board member Alhaji Imoro Brimah popularly known as Alhaji Akambi aren’t the ones who recruit players for the team.

He said this in his address to the media in the wake of the 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League season where Hearts finished in 14th place.

In the extensive conference, the veteran Ivorian trainer stated that he hasn’t submitted a players’ transfer list to the Hearts Managing Director and added that the club has a recruitment policy it adheres to. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“Alhaji Akambi or Honourable Odotei do not make any recruitment. We have a policy on our recruitment. It’s my target (a player I like), I scout him, I do my research, I look at the player in the Premier League about three, four, five times, if he repeats the same attitude, the same qualities, I discuss with the board.”

“We (me and the player) meet, I tell him my game plan, the reason why I need him to play the role he is coming to play. If you accept, I am finished with the technical side with him then I go and meet the MD then I am done.”
