Dr. Richard Nsenkyire, President of FC Samartex 1996, has stated that it is the vision of the club to turn Samreboi into a sports hub via the club’s exploits.

He said this in his speech when Samartex paid a courtesy call on Ghana President Nana Akufo-Addo after the Samreboi based team shocked the Ghana football field to win the Ghana Premier League.

Samartex, competing in the Ghanaian top-flight for the second year, won the 2023-2024 Ghana League title with 61 points and will represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League.

After overseeing a quick rise of Samartex, Dr. Nsenkyire stated that it is the vision of the club to turn the agric-heavy Western Region town in Ghana into a sports hub.

“Samreboi basically is a cocoa community but we have tried to diversify it with the timber and then the football because we have quite a big chunk of the youth so we are trying to diversify our local economy by introducing the sports because our vision is to make Samreboi a sports hub.”

Samartex has been drawn against Cameroon’s Victoria United in the first round of the CAF Champions League.
