Ghana Swimming Association President, Delphina Quaye, says spending more time training at the Borteyman Sports Complex will improve Ghanaian swimmers’ times.

She said this in an interview with ChannelOne Sports on the sidelines of the ChannelOne TV National Swimming Championship that took place at Borteyman over the weekend.

Over 150 swimmers representing eight swimming clubs in Ghana competed in the two-day event that had Legon Sharks Swimming Club emerge as the overall best team.

On the subject of improving qualification times to meet world standards, the Swimming Association President called on consistent training at the world class facility.

“This is a world class pool, a 50 metre competition pool with all the accoutrements attached to it; they train in this pool and less than a year, you will see improvement.”

The Borteyman Complex held the 2023 African Games that had Ghana’s Abeiku Jackson win bronze and silver medals in the 50 Metre and 100 Metre Butterfly events respectively.
