Black Stars defender Alexander Djiku has been ruled out of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger due to an injury.

🚨Head Coach Otto Addo has named the squad for our upcoming 2025 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola & Niger. 📝

The 30-year-old Fenerbahce player in the Turkish Super Lig was forced to leave last night’s match against Alanyaspor in the 61st minute after sustaining a thigh injury.

Initial scans show that Djiku suffered a Grade One strain in the front part of his right thigh (Quadriceps), which will sideline him for about 10-14 days, making him unavailable for the qualifiers.

Djiku was included in Otto Addo’s 23-man squad for Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
