Ghana Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo is officially off the mark in the 2024-2025 English Premier League season.
The Ghana international scored in AFC Bournemouth’s 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest in the opening round of the new season.
Semenyo was at the right place at the right time to sweep home after the ball broke to him deep inside the penalty off a cross from the left side in the 86th minute.
Bournemouth had conceded a Chris Wood goal earlier in the 23rd minute and saw a Dango Ouattara goal disallowed by VAR with the decision playing a part in the first half having 10 minutes played in added on time.
Semenyo lasted the entire duration of the game as the lead forward with Enes Unal nursing a shoulder injury and new forward signing Evanilson not included in the matchday squad. Bournemouth’s top scorer last season, Dominic Solanke, recently moved to Tottenham Hotspurs.

In his first full season at Bournemouth after transferring from Bristol City, Semenyo scored eight goals in 33 appearances and was nominated for the Player of the Month Award in March.
