Negotiations between Feyenoord and Nottingham Forest for Mexican international Santiago Gimenez are currently underway, a source close to the talks confirms.
Although there is still much to discuss, the striker could complete a move to the Premier League before the transfer window closes on August 30.
Martijn Krabbendam of Voetbal International told Voetbalpraat that the parties involved are in negotiations and he expects the transfer to be finalised in the next few hours.
“I think they will come to an agreement on the transfer amount,” says Krabbendam. “If Nottingham Forest offers something more than thirty million euros ($33 million), Feyenoord is willing to let Gimenez go . So the decision is only up to the player, if he wants to leave. That is now the topic of discussion.”
However, it remains unclear whether Gimenez will actually make the switch to England. At least not at the moment. For example, David Ornstein, transfer specialist for The Athletic , reports that Nottingham Forest are working on reaching a deal for another striker: Arsenal ‘s Eddie Nketiah.

If the English striker is indeed signed, it seems that Gimenez ‘s transfer will move away.
