Ghana’s Thomas Partey scored his debut goal in the 2024-2025 season to aid Arsenal win its second English Premier League game in a row.

The Black Stars midfielder scored in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Aston Villa at Villa Park in a tightly contested and at times tempestuous game.

Partey curled in Arsenal’s second goal to effectively seal the tie in the 77th minute from the edge of the Aston Villa penalty box after receiving a pass from the right side from Bukayo Saka.

The veteran midfielder struck a near grounder first time that crept past Emiliano Martinez after teammate Leandro Trossard stepped off the bench to open the scoring in the 67th minute.

The goal is Partey’s first of the season as he plays out the final year of his contract with the Gunners after joining from Atletico Madrid four seasons back.
