Loan deal is for Patric Pfeiffer to gather high level playing experience- Augsburg Director

FC Augsburg Sporting Director Marinko Jurendic has explained the reason behind sending Ghana-German player Patric Pfeiffer on loan to Swiss club Young Boys BSC.

He said this in a statement after Augsburg approved the loan deal for the 6 foot 5 inch defender to move to Young Boys in the lead up to the team’s UEFA Champions League qualifier game against Turkish side Galatasaray on August 21.

On his part, Pfeiffer stated that the move is the best option for his career development; Pfeiffer is under contract with Augsburg till June 2027 but on the part of Augsburg, Jurendic stated, (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“We arrived at the mutual conclusion that a loan to an ambitious club competing in Europe where Patric will be able to play regularly. The aim is for Patric to gather experience playing at a high level for Young Boys, as well as featuring in Europe.”

Pfeiffer recently received his Ghanaian passport and is in line to play for Ghana’s Black Stars; the former Hamburger SV player turns 25 on August 20.
