Black Stars defender Patric Pfeiffer has stated that moving to Swiss club Young Boys on loan is the best option to continue his football development.
He said this according to Augsburg’s media after the soon to be 25 year old sealed a loan move from the German Bundesliga side. Pfeiffer’s contract with Augsburg ends on June 2027.
Young Boys is scheduled to compete in the UEFA Champions League qualification round against Turkey’s Galatasaray later this month.
The 6 foot 5 inch defender who was born in Germany but recently received his Ghanaian passport to set him up for a long awaited debut for Ghana’s Black Stars after committing to play for Ghana has been loaned to the Swiss club for a season.
“Following an open and constructive dialogue with those in charge, I’m convinced that this is the best option to continue my development. It’s a great opportunity to gather important minutes for a strong team like Young Boys. I’m also excited to be able to take part in a European competition and experience playing abroad” Pfeiffer said.
Pfeiffer has played for Hamburger SV and Darmstardt in his career.
