Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has defended his selection of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club goalkeeper Frederick Asare to his latest Black Stars list.
He defended the decision to make the Kotoko player the only Ghana Premier League player in the Black Stars squad that is set to face Angola on September 5 and Niger on September 9.
Despite not featuring in any game for Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team, the former Accra Lions stopper, has seemingly impressed Addo who defended the decision at a presser.
“For me, he did well…When he came to our training, it was really impressive the way he trained. All the goalkeepers, I know, sometimes they make mistakes but we are looking for long term performance and development and I think he is a very talented goalkeeper, he did extremely well at the last call up.”

“We are looking also for a very very good team culture and he did extremely well in supporting the players and the other goalkeepers. I think he has a bright future, he’s a very good talent and he did very well.”
