French Ligue 1 side Montpellier is reportedly interested in the services of Ghana Black Stars midfielder Abdul Salis Samed.
The 24 year old is surplus to requirement at RC Lens having seen his playing time drop significantly last season after a sterling 2022-2023 season.
Lens head coach, Will Still, in a post game interview after Lens’ 1-0 win over Angers to open its 2024-2025 season, stated that players including Samed had been directed to train with the club’s reserve team.
Samed wasn’t included in the match day squad for the league contest; Lens is scheduled to play against Greek outfit Panathinaikos in the Europa League Conference on Thursday, August 22.
Black Stars midfielder Samed has generally struggled for form and availability after dealing with a series of injuries that have landed him on the transfer block for Lens after being an important transfer asset a while back.
Samed started both games for the Black Stars in the last round of 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
