Ghana Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo scored on Day One of the 2024-2025 English Premier League season and believes that getting a goal early will give him confidence for the upcoming round of games.
He said this in a post game interview with AFC Bournemouth media after The Cherries grabbed a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest. Semenyo played out the entire duration of the game.
Semenyo scored in the 86th minute by sweeping home the ball that broke inside the penalty box off a cross from the left side. Bournemouth had conceded in the 23rd minute via a Chris Wood goal.
“It gives me confidence for the next coming games. I think the manager, the assistants have been banging on all preseason that you make it to the back post, you get opportunities and that happened today so just need to keep making the back post to get myself in positions where I’m going to score so just need to keep going.”

In the 2023-2024 season, Semenyo scored eight EPL goals in 33 appearances.
