Angola has maintained it’s winning run in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers by registering a second win in its second outing.

Angola beat Sudan 2-1 in Luanda on the back of shocking Ghana with a 1-0 win at the Baba Yara Stadium to maintain its perfect start to the qualifiers.

Veteran striker Mabululu scored from the penalty spot in the 51st minute but Sudan’s Mustafa Karshom equalizer in the 55th minute before Rayo Vallecano’s Randy Nteka scored the winner off a deflection in the 82nd minute to give Angola all three points.

The loss is Sudan’s first in 2024 in competitive games and sets up its double header in October against Ghana nicely with Sudan ranked second in the group with three points while Ghana ranks third with just a point.

Former Black Stars player and coach, James Kwasi Appiah, is the head coach of Sudan.
