For the second game in a row, Ghana conceded a late goal to miss out winning a game in the ongoing 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
After conceding late to lose 1-0 to Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium, the Black Stars drew 1-1 with Niger after conceding an Oumar Sako goal in the 81st minute.
The 2025 AFCON qualifier was played in Berkane in Morocco due to Niger not having an appropriate match venue to host the game and despite playing at a neutral venue, it was Niger that impressed in the second half despite conceding an Alidu Seidu brilliant strike just before half time.
Inaki Williams, Mohammed Kudus and Majeed Ashimeru went close to doubling Ghanaβs lead in the second half but Niger goalkeeper Younoussa Hainikoye made key stops to keep Niger in the tie.
However, Niger defender Sako reacted fastest to a loose ball in the penalty box off a corner kick to tuck the ball home for the equalizer.
