Member of Parliament for the Odododiodio Constituency, Nii Lante Vanderpuye, believes that Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, would have resigned from his post if he served in his role in another jurisdiction following the latest controversy connected to the Ministry.

Africa’s football governing body, CAF, recently banned the Baba Yara Sports Stadium from hosting Category 3 games due to poor facilities at the edifice particularly the much maligned pitch. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

The decision effectively rules Ghana out from hosting any international game of sort and the Black Stars are likely to play Sudan in its 2025 AFCON qualifier in either Cote D’Ivoire and Togo.

After several alleged questionable expenditure at the 2023 AFCON and African Games, suffering such a damning judgement has pushed Honourable Vanderpuye, a former Sports Minister, to effectively call for Mustapha Ussif’s resignation.

“I think if it had been other jurisdictions, the Minister shouldn’t even expect us to ask questions before. He should humbly just bow out. He’s brought disgrace upon the country and himself.”

Former Minister of Youth and Sports Nii Vanderpuye

Honourable Vanderpuje called on President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, to sack Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif, on ChannelOne TV’s “The Big Issue”. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
