Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club have adopted the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium as its home venue to honour Ghana Premier League 2024-2025 season games with the Baba Yara Sports Stadium closed for its latest round of renovation works.

The Baba Yara Stadium was closed down for facilities to be upgraded after Africa’s football governing body, CAF, withdrew its approval for Category 3 games to be staged at the venue.

CAF ruled on the withdrawal after Ghana lost 1-0 to Angola in a 2025 AFCON qualifier; after the game, Angola head coach Pedro Goncalves, slammed the quality of the pitch.

With Baba Yara Stadium closed, Kotoko have adopted the home ground of former Ghana League side AshantiGold SC in Obuasi as its home base.

The Porcupine Warriors take on league debutants Young Apostles FC on Sunday, September 22 at 15:00 GMT after picking up a 1-0 win over Karela United in the season’s opener.

In a related move, Dreams FC have adopted the Tema New Town Park as its new home venue after the Accra Sports Stadium also got shut down for similar renovations.

Serious work is currently ongoing to get the Len Clay stadium ready…
