Ghana center Amida Brimah has signed a two month contract with Spanish Basketball League side BAXI Manresa in the 2024-2025 season.
Brimah joins the team in Spain’s top flight basketball division after playing out the 2023-2024 season with Santa Cruz Warriors (Golden State Warriors G-League outfit) and Mets de Guaynabo in the Puerto Rican Basketball League.
The 30 year old has been signed to replace Bodian Massa who picked up an injury in the lead up to the commencement of the new season.
Brimah’s short term contract with Manresa marks the former University of Connecticut player’s return to Europe.
The 6 foot 10 inch center won the Belgian league with Oostende and competed in the EuroCup with French outfit Bourg-En-Bresse. He had a short stint with Serbian side Partizan Belgrade.
Manresa finished eighth in the Endesa Regular Season standings with 19 wins and 15 losses; BAXI lost two straight games in the best of a three game playoff series to top seed Unicaja in the first round.
Brimah won the National Basketball title at University of Connecticut. In his time with Santa Cruz Warriors, Brimah broke the NBA G-League’s blocks record after a brief stint with the NBA’s Indiana Pacers. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
