Chairman of Ghana’s Parliament Select Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism, Wisdom Kobena Woyome, has stated that he wishes the Black Stars did a bit more in its outings in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

He said this in an exclusive interview with ChannelOne Sports after Ghana lost 1-0 to Angola and drew 1-1 with Niger in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

Ghana has just a point and ranks third in Group F and trails Sudan (three points) and Angola (six points) in the standings and the Member of Parliament for South Tongu Constituency wishes the Black Stars would have done more.

“On the player side, a bit of commitment because if you look at it, the same pitch was what the Angolans also played (on) so they could have also probably do a bit more to get the results we wanted. More especially too when you are playing before your home crowd.”

“However, we saw the results that we got. I was thinking the game in Morocco (against Niger) was going to be one which was going to be smooth sailing to stamp our place going forward and the way it went, again, an issue of commitment.”
