Coventry City Football Club manager Mark Robins has described Black Stars forward Brandon Thomas-Asante’s finish in a game against Tottenham Hotspurs as crisp.
He said this in a post-game interview after Coventry lost 2-1 to Tottenham Hotspurs in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
Thomas-Asante’s second goal for Coventry City since joining the club from West Bromwich Albion came in the 63rd minute after a brilliant free flowing move preceded it.
However, a late meltdown had Spurs score in the 88th and 92nd minute respectively through Djed Spence and Brennan Johnson.
Speaking after the game, Robins expressed his disappointment over the result but reserved a positive tone for his description of Thomas-Asante’s goal.
“When the goal came Norman Bassette gets the ball down the left-hand side and he squares the ball with a brilliant weight of pass and Brandon comes onto it and it’s a crisp finish and gave the goalkeeper no chance and we’re 1-0 up.”

Thomas-Asante played on the right side of the attack and played out the entire duration of the game in his second outing for Coventry after playing in Ghana’s 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
