Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, is confident on playing on a good playing surface in the Porcupine Warriors next Ghana Premier League game.
He said this in an interview on Kotoko media as the club prepares to host league debutants Young Apostles FC at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.
Kotoko have adopted the Len Clay Stadium as its temporal home venue due to the closure of the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi for renovation.
The Baba Yara Stadium closure took place right after Africa’s football governing body, CAF, withdrew its approval of the Baba Yara Stadium to host Category 3 games.
After bagging a 1-0 win over Karela United in Nalerigu, Kotoko will play its second game of the GPL 2024-2025 season against Young Apostles on Sunday, September 22 at 15:00 GMT.
“It is Obuasi Len Clay Stadium, we all know how good quality that pitch is. You only have to get your structure well and then pray that you have luck on your side that day so I think that we are ready for the game on Sunday against Young Apostles.”
Playing at Len Clay marks a return to the site Kotoko clinched the 2021-2022 Ghana League title in Dr. Ogum’s first run out as Kotoko head coach.
