Medeama Sporting Club head coach, Nebojsa Kapor, says he is happy his team won its debut game of the Ghana Premier League 2024-2025 season against a very tough Accra Lions team.

Medeama beat Accra Lions 1-0 at the TNA Stadium in Tarkwa for its first win of the new season; Lions finished second in the standings with Bernardinho Tetteh scoring the winner in the 56th minute via a penalty kick.

Speaking after the game, Kapor stated that he expected a tough outing against the young team that exceeded expectations last season.

“Congrats to my players because they really deserved this victory. It’s very difficult especially the first game in a season because of a lot of things, because of preseason, because of pressure on players playing the home matches. This is normal in football and I’m really happy because we won this game. The game was tough we expected this especially against this opponent who play very good football with young players.”
