Athletic Bilbao forward Inaki Williams has checked into the Black Stars camp ahead of 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Angola and Niger.

Ghana takes on Angola on Thursday, September 5 at 16:00 GMT at the Baba Yara Stadium before taking on Niger on September 9 in Morocco.

Niger’s home stadium didn’t meet the requirements of Africa’s football governing body, CAF, thereby forcing the game to be played in the North African nation.

30 year old Williams has played in all four games in La Liga in the 2024-2025 season but is yet to register an assist or a goal. He starred in the immediate past campaign where he helped Bilbao win the Spanish FA Cup (Copa Del Rey).

The Spanish born player is aiming to compete in his third international tournament since committing to play international football for Ghana.

Williams played with the Black Stars at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and the 2023 AFCON that was held in Cote D’Ivoire.

Happy to be back ✌🏿😄 https://t.co/cfW6CR6nCg

Both tournaments had Ghana exit at the group stage with the Black Stars failing to win a game at the 2023 AFCON.
