Black Stars goalkeeper Richard Ofori’s career in South Africa’s elite football division, the Premier Soccer League, continues after agreeing to join Amazulu FC.
He said the above-mentioned statement after his move to the club as a free agent was confirmed after several reports linked him to the club.
30 year old Ofori spent quite some time as a free agent following his exit from Orlando Pirates after four years with the South African giants.
During his time with Orlando, Ofori won the MTN 8 title in 2022 and 2023; he spent two seasons at Maritzburg United where he won the MTN 8 title in 2020.
Addressing his move, the veteran shot stopper said he was happy about moving back to the Kwazulu Natal Province which served as his home on his arrival to the South African league.
“I’m happy to be here in KZN again. It feels like home, as KwaZulu Natal was where I first arrived in South Africa. We’re here to work and continue the journey. The team is a big club, the oldest in the country, and I’m here to contribute.”
Ofori is yet to feature for the Black Stars after the 2023 AFCON that had Ghana crash out at the group stage without bagging a win. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
