Ghana’s National Men’s Under 20 Football Team, the Black Satellites, has been drawn in Group A of the 2024 WAFU Zone B Championship. The tournament runs from October 17 to October 31.

The draw was confirmed today with the Black Satellites drawn in the group with Togo, Benin and Niger with the top two ranked nations set to progress to the next stage of the tournament after round robin slate of games.

In Group B, powerhouse Nigeria lead the way with Burkina Faso and Cote D’Ivoire also featuring in the group in what many have described as the group of death.

The Satellites head into the tournament on the back of winning the 2023 African Games; the 13th African Games was held in Ghana and the Satellites female counterparts, the Black Princesses also won gold.

Ghana is attempting to qualify to the African Championship for the first time after winning the 2021 AFCON that had the likes of Leicester City’s Abdul Fatawu Issahaku star in.

Despite winning the 2021 Under 20 AFCON, Ghana couldn’t compete at the World Cup due to effects of the COVID 19 pandemic.
