FC Samartex 1996 centre forward Emmanuel Mamah says his club is feeling very optimistic about its chances of progressing to the third round of the 2024-2025 CAF Champions League.
He said this ahead of Samartex’s second leg tie against the Moroccan giant in Casablanca on Saturday, September 21 at 19:00 GMT.
The first leg played out at the Accra Sports Stadium ended 2-2 and despite being at a disadvantage in the second leg due to Raja scoring two away goals, Mamah’s statement mirrors that of Samartex coach Nurudeen Amadu. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
“We’re feeling very optimistic about the upcoming second leg of the fixture, despite still being considered the underdog. There’s absolutely no pressure on us which allows us to play with a sense of freedom and confidence. Our main objective is to build on the strong performance we showcased last Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.”

Samartex is competing in the CAF Champions League for the first time after winning the Ghana Premier League for the first time in the 2023-2024 season.
