FC Samartex 1996 head coach, Nurudeen Amadu, has called for his team to believe that they can progress to the third round of the CAF Champions League at the expense of Raja Casablanca.
He said this in his post-game presser after his side drew 2-2 with Moroccan side Raja Casablanca in the first of a two legged tie at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The second leg takes place in Casablanca on Saturday, September 21 with Raja holding the advantage due to scoring two away goals. However, Amadu believes that his side can get the needed results away from home to qualify.
“It was a difficult game and we did our best but our best wasn’t enough but that notwithstanding, the boys did well. We just need to psych our players and believe we can do it away in Casablanca.”

Samartex is competing in the Champions League for the first time after winning the 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League season and played out a goalless draw against Dreams FC to open the 2024-2025 league season.
