25 year old FC Samartex 1996 defender Isaac Afful has been included in the Black Stars squad set to play against Sudan in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
Afful is one of two players from the Ghana Premier League included in the 25 man squad that will represent Ghana in the double header against Sudan.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Frederick Asare maintained his place in the team as one of three keepers called up for the crucial series of games alongside regulars Lawrence Ati-Zigi and Jojo Wollacott.
The first of the two games takes place at the Accra Stadium on Thursday, October 10 with the return fixture set for October 15.
Afful has been a consistent top performer for reigning Ghana Premier League champions Samartex and played a key role in the teamβs shock win of the division in the 2023-2024 season.
He has played in all three games of the 2024-2025 season as well as three games Samartex played in the CAF Champions League as Samartex exited in the second round. Afful joined Samartex from Skyy FC in 2022.
