He was pushed to that limit- Wilson Arthur on Kurt Okraku’s infamous speech

GFA President Kurt Okraku

Bankroller of Skyy FC, Wilson Arthur, has indicated that frustration from Ghana’s goalless draw with Niger pushed Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku to deliver his infamous fiery speech to the Black Stars.

The GFA President spoke passionately to members of the Black Stars in the lead up to Ghana’s 2025 AFCON qualifier against Sudan in Accra.

In the video, Kurt Okraku blasted the players’ level of commitment shown in a previous qualifier against Niger that ended goalless.

Many have condemned video of the GFA President’s speech that was recorded and posted on the internet but Wilson Arthur believes that frustration over the goalless draw against Niger pushed Kurt Okraku to the limit.

“They needed to be told what they were told. Maybe a psychologist would have done it better but you see, sometimes you are pushed to that limit. If they had won, we would have said that it (the speech) worked and their (Black Stars) play got better (against Sudan)” Arthur said in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports.

Ghana drew against Sudan after wasting several chances and Arthur went on to call for more Ghana based and Ghanaian players based in Africa to be named in the Black Stars. Scroll down to watch Kurt Okraku’s speech.
