Black Stars defender Mohammed Salisu has been named in the UEFA Champions League Team of the Week after starring in AS Monaco’s 2-2 draw with Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia.

Salisu scored his first goal in the Champions League in the game in the 74th minute by holding off a defender to direct a corner kick attempt into the net to give Monaco a lifeline after trailing 2-0 following the 66th minute.

Teammate Denis Zakaria scored from the penalty spot in the 90th minute to even the game to keep Monaco’s unbeaten start to the Champions League intact. Monaco beat Barcelona 2-1 in its opening game.

Salisu also put up a top performance against Barcelona and made the team alongside Tiago Santos of Lille, Atalanta’s Davide Zappacosta and PSV’s Flamingo with Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez rounding up the backline.
