Two Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club players have absconded in the United States of America after leaving the team’s camp ahead of a cancelled friendly game.

According to US based Ghanaian Journalist, Seidu Adamu, Kotoko’s Sudanese pair, AbdoelKarem AbdoelRahman Yoouef Yagoub and Esmat Abdulhamid Mohamed Al Hasan left Kotoko’s camp in the Washington DC area prior to the Porcupine Warriors final training on Friday, October 11.

Reports reaching Citi Sports also indicate that CCTV footage captured the duo leaving the team’s hotel with no word on their whereabouts confirmed.

Kotoko Sporting Club have officially confirmed the news; scroll down to read full details of confirmation.

The pair is yet to report to camp as Kotoko’s entourage prepares to fly back to Ghana after its planned game against Major League Soccer (MLS) side DC United was called off due to several members of Kotoko’s team having their visas “bounced” by the US Embassy in Ghana.  (Click highlighted text to read full story)

The situation forced Kotoko to seek players from Medeama SC to complement its travelling entourage to honour the Capital City Cup game.

However, Kotoko confirmed through an official communique that it had withdrawn from honouring the game due to these visa challenges. The team is expected to return to Ghana on Sunday, October 13.
