Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club have officially confirmed the absconding of two players from its base in the United States of America (USA).

The club released a communique announcing the disappearance of defender Esmat Abdulhamid Mohamed Al Hasan and forward AbdoelKarem AbdoelRahman Yoouef Yagoub from the team’s camp in the Washington DC area.

The club’s statement added that the aforementioned Sudanese pair’s whereabouts are still unknown and that the appropriate authorities have been contacted over the situation to ensure their return to Ghana. Kotoko fly out from the US to Ghana on Sunday, October 13.

Kotoko moved to the US to honour the Capital City Africa Cup game against Major League Soccer (MLS) side DC United but Kotoko has since withdrawn from competing in the game. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

This was down to several Kotoko players’ request for travel visas turned down by the US Embassy in Ghana that forced Kotoko to attempt fielding a team with some Medeama SC players to honour the game prior to the announcement of the withdrawal on Friday, October 11.
