The Aliu Mahama Stadium was closed down for renovation after several facilities at the venue particularly the pitch had run down.
However, the pitch has undergone a facelift and a video captured on social media on Wednesday, October 2 had a roller levelling the playing surface that clearly had much improved grass cover than previously.
The Aliu Mahama Stadium’s closure for renovation follows a series of similar closures for the Cape Coast Stadium, Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi and Essipong Stadium in Sekondi for the same purpose.
Ghana Premier League side Karela United hosted home league games at the venue and have been using the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex due to the closure.
