Algeria forward Amine Gouiri has honoured injured Stade Rennes teammate Alidu Seidu as the French Ligue 1 side won big on Saturday, November 30.
Rennes beat Saint-Etienne 5-0 to end a bad run of form of losing three straight games; the win moves Rennes to 12th place in the 18 team league standings with Saint-Etienne dropping to 14th place.
Arnaud Kalimuendo and Ludovic Blas starred in the game by bagging a hat-trick of goals and a hat-trick of assists in the win respectively.
Algeria international Gouiri scored Rennes’ third goal and run over to the bench to fetch an Alidu Seidu jersey and held it up in front of the cameras.
Rennes head coach, Jorge Sampaoli, was spotted near the touchline applauding the gesture to one of Rennes most important players who is lost for the season to an ACL injury.
Black Stars defender Seidu, limped off after falling to the turf in the 18th minute in Rennes’ 1-0 loss to Lille in the past round of league games.

Prior to the injury, Alidu had been named as Rennes Player of the Month-September.
