An Arsenal fan, identified as Charles Ogunmilade, has been banned for racially abusing Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey on social media.

28 year old Ogunmilade, made a “grossly offensive” remark about the Black Stars player after Partey shot his goal attempt over the bar in a game against Southampton on April 21 in the 2023-2024 season on X formerly Twitter.

Ogunmilade has been banned from attending matches for three years with City of London Magistrates communicating that there was “no choice” but to hand him the ban and a conditional discharge “would not be appropriate”.

Partey endured a torrid time in the past season as he battled several injuries during Arsenal’s furious charge at winning the Premier League title but missed out to Manchester City by two points.

However, he has made a brilliant start to the 2024-2025 campaign scoring twice including a fine long strike in Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest.
