Three Ghanaian Para athletes, along with an official, have travelled to South Korea for a training camp aimed at kickstarting the qualification process for the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games.

This initiative, organized jointly by the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of Ghana and the Korean Paralympic Committee, seeks to provide Ghanaian athletes with essential exposure as they prepare for the LA28 qualification events.

The team is composed of two Para swimmers, Promise Aheto and Bryan Akoto, and Para-badminton player Judith Adu. Accompanying them is media and impact officer, Mr. Michael Obeng.
The program, fully sponsored by the Korean Paralympic Committee, includes various development sessions and training activities. A key focus is on advancing the athletes’ skills at a sports academy offering specialized training in Para-badminton, swimming, and taekwondo.
Additionally, the camp will offer the Ghanaian team opportunities to engage with Korean culture and expand their professional network.
The Korean Paralympic Committee is covering all expenses for the trip and associated activities. Notably, in 2022, two Ghanaian athletes and an official benefited from a similar arrangement in preparation for the Paris 2024 Paralympics.
The team is expected to return to Ghana on November 15, 2024.
